About My Teaching "Singing is an art, but singing artistically cannot be approached before the mastery of singing as a skill. It is very important to develop the basic fundamentals of singing in order to become an artistic singer." "In teaching, philosophy is an essential part of the lesson plan. As a teacher, I feel that I have a great responsibility not only to be competent in the subject matter, but also to be able to explain and present the material in a manner that the student will be able to understand." "My goal as an educator is to give my students the knowledge needed to reach their fullest potential so that they will enter the real world with an understanding of good musicianship and the ability to use it intuitively to express themselves through music." "A singer needs to have a love for the art and truly enjoy the expressiveness of performing it. This art, like all love, involves a commitment. It is not until the student has established a desire and made that commitment that he is ready to be taught." Recent Student News:

What you can do from this page: A Valuable Opportunity NATS Auditions to be held this fall at Viterbo University Anyone who is studying with a voice teacher who is a current member of NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singing) is elegible to participate in this Audition-Contest. Prize winners receive certificates and there are money prizes for the top placers. In past contests my students have placed well in these events. I am hoping that many of you will want to participate in the Fall, especially because it is going to be held right here at Viterbo University in La Crosse. What could be more convenient for all of us?
My Studio e-mail address: I will never post on the site the list of lesson times and student information you were sent to facilitate arranging lesson time exchanges. That is for your own safety. The Web is a public place and some information just does not belong there. Using the Studio Web site.
